The Art-Making Journey

Art is fundamentally about PROCESSES –processes that draw from all sources of inspiration and from what our eyes find beautiful: interesting shapes, colors, and forms. Through drawing and art-making processes, ideas and interpretations are formed, then, the most enjoyable part of the art-
making process begins when we put all these discoveries together and work our way through to a final artwork. Hence, all individual work forms a
fountain of possibilities – the potential for many other artworks and creative expressions that can lead to yet another artwork.

As this process is repeated and refined, an artist’s unique perspective emerges. Artgrain’s Open House 2025 was presented with tremendous effort from our students and teachers. This open house displayed our students’ artistic exploration and experimentation – showcasing all the processes they took to arrive at their final works. All these processes will continue to appear in many of their future works.

I look forward confidently to 2026, knowing that our students, together with our team of professional artist teachers, will fill the year with winning artworks and art that speaks to many.
