Our Secondary Art programme aims to provide a comprehensive training that complements, and goes beyond the art curriculum in school. Whether you are looking to take art as an interest or as a GCE ‘O’ Level Art subject, our Secondary Art Programme caters to all students aged 13 to 16 with different learning objectives and background.

Art Class for Secondary / JC / IB Students
Exploring the theme of chiaroscuro, Alex, Sec 4, created a portrait of Apo Whang-Od, a 106-year-old tattoo artist whose ink embodies a tangible connection to her heritage and represents a powerful act of defiance against forces seeking to erase her cultural identity. Alex's researches and visual strategy of expressive impasto medium really ties the artwork well together.
Learning Outcomes
Foundational Skills in drawing and painting
Students will master the ability to articulate observation of shapes, forms, tones and other visual strategies as a sign of developments in the ideation stage.
Exploration of Idea, Image Gathering and Visual Research
There is greater emphasis on the development of ideas into works of art. Art-making no longer limits to creating just the final work, but more on the means of overseeing the whole process of creation. Learning art as a subject will take a more autonomous and investigative approach.
Art for ‘N’, ‘O’, ‘A’ Level or IB
They will also be learning the application of dry and wet media, creating works based on the various art expressions and styles. Different media and processes will be introduced. Each module will progressively cover different subject matter, movements, and themes beneficial when it comes to examination preparations.
Program Fee
Study of Visual Arts (SOVA) will be covered in workshops run by our teachers. IB students will also be guided to strengthen both conceptual and technical skills required to handle IB examinations.
A4 Journal will be used to record key concepts and ideas from our teachers and reinforcing learning. It also supports idea development and reflection, allowing students to track creative processes. Material and compositional experimentation for the understanding and application of techniques and ideas.
