Art Class for Secondary / JC / IB Students

Exploring the theme of chiaroscuro, Alex, Sec 4, created a portrait of Apo Whang-Od, a 106-year-old tattoo artist whose ink embodies a tangible connection to her heritage and represents a powerful act of defiance against forces seeking to erase her cultural identity. Alex's researches and visual strategy of expressive impasto medium really ties the artwork well together.
