Art Class for Pre-Schoolers
Our Headstart Art Class is composed of thematic lessons (such as Playground / Underwater world / Zoo, interesting subjects that the children like and see daily) through the understanding of Design Principles.
This program encourages children to be more conscious of the world we live in, as well as creating meaning and stories out of their artwork.
Children will learn important building blocks in the understanding and appreciation of Art.
Learning Outcomes
Learn to Draw and Paint
Students will be taught to express their ideas through drawings and learn basic brush handlings, colours introduction and colour mixing with endless possibilities of techniques and mediums.
Composing Ideas with Design Principles
Students will learn to effectively communicate their ideas, organize their thoughts and present them in a way that captures the viewer's interest with the use of design principles such as balance, contrast, emphasis, pattern and unity.
A Visual Tool for Story-Telling
Structured around a series of themes that encourages children to reflect on their lives and the world around them. Each module has a theme - “Nature and Play”, “Animal and Self”, etc. Students are encouraged to used their imagination to tell stories like what happened on their most memorable day.

Artgrain Headstart Booklet is a workbook put together by our teachers for our preschool students. Students are required to purchase this booklet for in-class learning. This booklet consist of comprehensive exercises with clear lesson objectives and visual tools to help in the students’ learning.
