Our adult classes are the most flexible of all the classes at Artgrain. Adult students are encouraged to pursue their own interests and passions. They choose the subject matter and medium that they use. It doesn’t matter how much prior experience you have in art: we will meet you where you are and impart to you the skills needed to make the art that you want to make.

Art Mediums You Can Learn
Our adult art classes in Singapore let you choose the medium you want to master — from complete beginner to practising artist, our teachers guide you at your own pace.
Watercolour Painting
Learn washes, layering and colour control in a forgiving, expressive medium. Watercolour is a popular starting point for adult beginners — ideal for landscapes, botanicals and loose, atmospheric painting.
Acrylic Painting
A versatile, fast-drying medium suited to bold colour and confident brushwork. Build skills in colour mixing, layering and composition as you work towards complete canvas paintings.
Oil Painting
The classic fine-art medium. Learn traditional techniques — blending, glazing and working in layers — at a relaxed pace, from your first landscape studies through to refined still life work.
Charcoal & Pencil Drawing
Build the foundation of all art-making: observation, proportion, tone and line. Sketching in charcoal and graphite trains your eye and hand, whether you are starting from zero or sharpening old skills.
You set the direction — choose your subject matter, from landscapes in your first modules to still life and beyond, while your teacher tailors each lesson to your interests and level. Classes are held at all six branches, weekdays and weekends.
Accommodate All Skill Levels
Provide basic techniques and knowledge for beginners. Introduced to the medium/media of your interest – Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Watercolour, Charcoal, Pencil Drawing. Landscapes will the main choice of subject matter that you will work with during first few modules.
Facilitate the creative process through ideas sharing and inspirations
Intermediate Stages: Subsequently, you will be introduced to still life as the main subject matter.
Advance Art-Making Abilities and Enhance Existing Knowledge
Challenge experienced practitioners to refine and elevate their artistic practice and help individuals with some background deepen their understanding and skills.
Program Fee
Our adult art class cater to each student’s interests in terms of mediums and subject matters. We welcome students of any experience level as we guide students to improve their skill levels as well as introduce students to different art forms. If there are specific subject matters you are keen to explore and any prior art experiences you have? Feel free to send us photos of your past works as well. This information will help us to tailor a specific programme for you to help push your skills further.

Can I join an adult art class with no experience?
Yes. Our adult art classes are designed for complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners. We meet you at your current level, teach the fundamentals step by step, and progress at your own pace.
What art mediums can I learn?
You can learn oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolour, charcoal and pencil drawing. You choose the medium you want to focus on, and our teachers will guide you in it.
Do I get to choose what I paint or draw?
Yes. Adult classes are the most flexible programme at Artgrain — you choose your own subject matter and medium. Beginners typically start with landscapes, then progress to still life and more advanced subjects.
How much do adult art classes cost?
A trial lesson is $50. A module of 10 weekly lessons is $480, with a one-time $25 registration fee and $50 annual material fee. Ad-hoc 2-hour sessions are also available at $52.
How long is each adult art class?
Regular adult classes run for 2.5 hours per session, once a week. Shorter 2-hour ad-hoc sessions are also available if you prefer a lighter commitment.
Where are adult art classes held?
Adult art classes are available at all six Artgrain branches across Singapore: Bukit Timah, Parkway (Marine Parade), Thomson, Tampines, Woodlands and Jurong East.
