Will my material fee be refunded since I did not complete the year? Also what is the registration fee for?

The registration fee is a one-time administrative fee that covers your child’s enrolment and account setup when they first join Artgrain. It is charged once, separately from the programme fees.

The annual material fee covers the art materials your child uses throughout the year. As these materials are purchased and prepared in advance for the full year, the material fee is non-refundable if a student withdraws before the year ends. If you have any questions about your specific situation, please speak with our Branch Head — we’ll be glad to help.

My child is under the SOTA Scheme, I am unable to make payment by week 3 of the new module as they have not transferred the money

If your child is under a study aid or sponsorship scheme, please speak with our Branch Head to discuss the arrangements. As there are different types of schemes (such as partial or full sponsorship), payment procedures may vary. In most cases, the sponsorship funds are paid directly to parents, so programme fees will still need to be paid to the school first — even if the sponsorship payment has not yet been received. If you are experiencing financial difficulties while waiting for the sponsorship payout, you may request a prorated payment arrangement. These requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Why are parents unable to accompany their child for classes?

Our classes are conducted as drop-off sessions, without parents in the room — and this is intentional. Children tend to focus better, express themselves more freely, and build independence and confidence when they create alongside their teacher and peers. It also lets our teachers give the whole class their full attention. Our studios are a safe, nurturing space, and our teachers are always happy to share your child’s progress and artwork after class.

Why is it in a mixed class setting? Can the teacher devote time to my child this way?

While our classes run in a mixed-level setting, every child follows an individualised programme — our teachers set tasks and give guidance based on each student’s own stage, pace and goals, rather than one fixed lesson for everyone. We keep class sizes small so teachers can move around and give each child personal attention. A mixed setting also lets students learn from and inspire one another, building motivation and a positive studio community. Rest assured, your child is guided individually throughout every lesson.

Should I wait for a ‘new’ module to sign up?

Our classes are ongoing all year round and we welcome new students all year round. Students start on our curriculum whenever it is they join us. Fees will be prorated upon the first-time sign up.
