Annual Painting Assessment: Report & Art Competition (August 2020)

Dear Parents,

Our recent Painting Assessment was a smash hit! This year, we conducted the assessment as a thematic project, asking students to make unique works that expressed the idea of kampung spirit and #SGunited in the era of COVID-19. Our students’ responses just blew us away!

  • The assessment report our teachers will be giving back to you on your child’s work
  • Upcoming competitions that you can enter your child’s artwork in!

Assessment Report: How do we assess students’ work?

Artgrain is committed to our students’ growth and progress, and our annual assessment is a milestone in their learning. You will receive feedback on the following areas in the assessment report that your child’s teacher will be returning to you soon!

Painting Skills

No matter what style a child chose to paint their artwork in, we focus on their technical control, use of light and dark tones, sensitivity to colours, and attention to detail and texture.

Autonomy

We commend students for their ability to make independent decisions, apply artistic principles, and stay focused and self-aware of their progress during lessons.

Creative Response

With the open-ended topic for the painting assessment this time round, students had to creatively communicate their ideas through composing their painting. Those who came up with original ideas and displayed an enthusiasm to express themselves in class, have a chance to shine!

Art Competitions: Enter your child’s work in upcoming competitions!

With all the amazing artworks our students have created, we want to share them with the world too! Here are some upcoming competitions that your child may be eligible for.

All students’ work will be automatically entered in our Artgrain internal competition. Additionally, we strongly encourage you to enter their finished paintings in these other listed competitions if eligible.
