Hello Parents & Friends of Artgrain,
Artgrain will be holding an exhibition at Jurong Regional Library from 9th March to 27th March 2023.
The secondary school years are the time when we begin to make sense of our place in the world. Youths not only negotiate complex relationships with family, peers and school life, but also grapple with issues revolving around information and technology, cultural trends, identity, multiculturalism, and history. As teenagers experience, grow and mature, they develop a more critical lens to observe the changes taking place around them and learn to formulate their own voices and opinions.
Art-making is a deeply personal process as we seek to express our interpretations of the world in visual form. To illustrate and convey the concepts behind their work, students conducted rigorous studies such as brainstorming, researching, photo-taking, medium explorations, thumbnail sketches and colour schemes. All these steps took trial and error, effort and time, a level of attention and commitment visible in the exhibition’s works. The theme of the exhibition – ‘Change’, encapsulates each student’s unique expression of their personal memories, struggles and ideals reflected from the evolving world around them.
Feel free to head over to check out what students under our Secondary Art Programme have come up with in relation to the theme. Artgrain will also be conducting Digital Drawing workshops for participants aged 10-17 years old.
Kindest Regards,
Artgrain Team
