Teacher Iqbal

Teacher Iqbal graduated from the National University of Singapore, School of Design and Environment with a Bachelors of Arts (Architecture) with Honours. He has a passion for heritage and conservation, focusing on community engagement as well as timber construction. Through his work, he hopes to encourage recognising our built environment within the context of change, development and different perspectives, enriching our understanding of the community of which we are part. His work on kampong houses studies traditional construction techniques and practices, exploring the sustainability of timber as a material in modern construction as well as the relevance of the architectural typology in a modern landscape.

Teacher Yirong

Teacher Yirong treasures every chance to experience art. She believes that exhibitions are places of inspiration and motivation. Over time, it has also become more prominent to her that visitors are not just learning about the world through the artists’ point of view, but are also led by the curators’ design. Her background in Art Elective Programme has also built up her interest in painting and print-making. She enjoys creating mixed-media artworks.
She is currently pursuing her Masters in Museum Studies and Curatorial Practices at Nanyang Technological University and doing part-time teaching at Artgrain.
