Art Classes at Artgrain
Learning art with us can be a fun and enriching hobby, but we also provide support for students who are pursuing art in the education system, such as art classes that help students prepare for DSA art portfolio, ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level art. Our teaching focuses on building strong foundations for observational painting and drawing, and developing each child’s capability to think creatively and critically and reflect on their artistic process.
Art Mediums and Techniques
At Artgrain, kids will get to try out different kinds of art such as drawing, sketching, illustration, acrylic painting, oil painting, watercolour, dry mediums, painting on canvas, sculpture, digital art, and much more. Our teachers provide close step-by-step guidance on different techniques, helping students to understand how to take a work from the beginning ideas and sketches, to putting on the finishing touches and details.
Why Art Education?
Art education can provide your child with an invaluable experience in developing their creative and thinking skills. It is a great combination of learning to observe and see the world, learning to skilfully manipulate the art mediums and techniques, and expressing oneself clearly through visual forms. At Artgrain, we are committed to providing high-quality art education to each of our students.
We also offer holiday workshops to keep the young ones occupied during school holidays, join us for a fun art jamming session in painting on canvas, clay sculpting, or many more. Our holiday workshops are 2-3 days long, and each child will get to take home a unique artwork of their own that they can be proud of. Sign up with us to let your child try something new and nurture their creative spark today!

The Team @ Tampines
Teacher Iqbal graduated from the National University of Singapore, School of Design and Environment with a Bachelors of Arts (Architecture) with Honours. He has a passion for heritage and conservation, focusing on community engagement as well as timber construction. Through his work, he hopes to encourage recognising our built environment within the context of change, development and different perspectives, enriching our understanding of the community of which we are part. His work on kampong houses studies traditional construction techniques and practices, exploring the sustainability of timber as a material in modern construction as well as the relevance of the architectural typology in a modern landscape.

Teacher Amirah Eliyana Insyirah graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Arts from Lasalle College of the Arts in 2013. Her paintings are responses based upon her personal life and observations of her daily surroundings. She is interested in creating a realistic rendering work, paying careful attention to details. Through years of teaching, she enjoys providing opportunities for her students of all ages to explore their creativity and guiding them through their art making journey.
Mr Azri is currently pursuing a degree in Fine Art at LaSalle College of the Arts. His painting draws inspiration from nature and his childhood spent near the ocean. Through his work, he aims to share an appreciation and responsibility towards nature. He has contributed his art to conservation efforts such as Sharkfest UK and Treasures of our Shores in 2018 and hopes to see the youth develop a sense of wonder for nature’s beauty. Working with paint, pen, cameras and drawing inspiration from his personal experiences with nature – especially the ocean – he believes that a person’s understanding of life and their ways of visual expression are intimately related. He also believes that through honest learning and practice, this relationship can be strengthened, allowing a person to deepen their understanding of the self and its relation to the world. In teaching art, he hopes to enable children to see the world with more meaning, optimism and widened horizons.
